Surface Preparation

Concrete Walls/
Ceilings (Masonry)
  • Ensure surface is clean and dry
  • Apply appropriate sealer
  • Remove lose paint film by hard scraping/ high pressure water jet
  • Treat fungi, algae or mould with fungicidal/biocidal wash
  • Ensure dry off before painting
Metal/Ferrous Substrate
  • Remove rust or millscales by manual or mechanical cleaning
  • Ensure surface free from oil, grease and other contaminant
  • Remove loosely adhering paint
  • Remove debris, oil, grease or other contaminants before painting
  • Use suitable primer
Wooden Substrate
  • Ensure surface is free from oil, grease and other contaminants
  • Sanding surface with abrasive paper for better adhesion and appearance
  • Remove loose adhering paint
  • Ensure surface is clean and dry
  • Use suitable primer

Touchup Procedures:

Concrete/ Masonry: Clean, degrease and dry affected areas before touchup. Wash off any algae or fungi with fungicidal/biocidal wash and remove previous paint film that is loose if necessary. Cracks can be filled with suitable water proofing material and allow to cure. Then paint with the recommended coats of paint as described above.
Wooden Surface: Remove loose adhering paint film. Clean and dry the affected surface; sand with abrasive paper if necessary for better adhesion and appearance. Cracks can be filled with any wood putty. Then paint with the recommended coats of paint as described above.
Metal Surface: Remove loose adhering paint film. Clean and wipe surface to remove debris, oil/grease or other contaminants. Cracks can be filled with any polyester putty. Then paint with the recommended coats of paint as described above.
